Summer is always an interesting time for parents of school children. The need to socialize, missing friends, loving to play.. It is definitely a love/challenge season for all of us. Especially with kids at an age where they aren’t yet in charge of their schedule.
This year we learned that Amara’s memories of summer only included family vacations. Imagine this poor girl’s shock that Dad still has to work and yes he did this last year and yes Mom still has work too and no other people’s parents do not play with them non-stop all summer long… (true story). Life is tough guys. Life is tough.
We have continued to enjoy our family moments from the pool to the beach to togetherness inside. There is a lot of water and inside-ness down here. Though nothing really stops the forces of humidity. In fact, as I write this the humidity has been in flux (inside yo) as a storm rolls in. 🥵
(I do realize some people love humidity – it is my truest nemesis)
Meanwhile our adoption continues it’s holding pattern as we wait for the next document in the process to arrive. We can’t wait to celebrate it’s arrival with you and keep moving forward towards meeting our little girl!

We had so much fun spending time with extended family over the weekend! And as always, sparklers are mesmerizing, aren’t they?
